Sussex Telecommunications Group was established in 1988 by a management team with over thirty years of extensive experience in the field of telecommunications. Sussex Telecommunications Group, an entirely Canadian owned and operated entity, specializes in providing all aspects of telecommunications, including long distance, local exchange services, fax and voice servers, VOIP telephony, calling card processing, web hosting, as well as equipment lease, sale, and maintenance.

To serve the diverse telecommunications requirements of today's market, Sussex Telecommunications Group consists of two separate companies that operate collectively as the Sussex Telecommunications Group.

Sussex Long Distance Inc. (SLDI) was incorporated in 1994. As a nation-wide reseller of long distance, SLDI offers it's residential, corporate, and affinity clients long distance rates that are extremely competitive. SLDI also provides a complete range of additional telecommunications services such as teleconferencing, cellular LD, fax to email etc., to meet the needs of today's market.

Originally established as Sussex Centre Communications in 1988, to provide shared tenant telecommunications services to several locations within Toronto and Ottawa, STI also sells, leases and maintains equipment for corporate clients. Technical staff provides on-site coverage during business and evening hours, and emergency service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Sussex Telecom Inc. also serves the needs of the long distance calling card markets. Industrial grade processors, located in Toronto, are configured with complete redundancy to ensure continuous operation. It is the objective of STI to provide the industry with exceedingly competitive rates and a high degree of customization. In addition, STI provides network based services such as stand-alone voice mail.

In 2002, STI began to offer private VOIP networks to selected clients; these networks now serve the Canadian far north, as well as several locations around the world.
